I find that sadness and anger make more powerful paintings, drawings and poems since all of that negative energy is concentrate into what I am doing.
Plus, yes, I do enjoy feeling sad or angry at times, not directly at the moment but I realize that if I have never felt negative feelings- I would never truly appreciate the good feelings in life .

I find that most of my creativity stems from depression. Which means it's not really all that creative, I know, but the best poems or songs, for me at least, are written when I'm tormented.
And no, happiness can't truly be appreciated unless you've seen the unhappy. Think of all the spoiled brats who start to cry when daddy won't give them the keys to the jag. When I see shallow people like that, I really am grateful for the other side of life.
Ugh, this post sounds so self-righteous, but whatever, I swear I'm not usually this weird, lol.

Of course I do, you need time in life to sit back and realize the real world around you. It isn't some happy place where everyone is smiling all the time. It's true even more in our current days because of what is going on in the world. It truly is a sad thing. So being sad is something you have to appreciate because for us to be sad is one thing, but to put ourselves in the shoes of those less fortunate, and to feel their sadness, that is what makes our sadness appreciated.

I dont appreciate being sad because it makes your a loner. When your sad and your making things funny to get out from sadness and there is still someone who makes you sad or makes a problem. This thing is the worst thing i've experienced.
but i think... all people have experienced this already.

I believe that suffering creates character. So yes, I do appreciate being sad. I've been sad for quite awhile now, and even though I'm miserable now, I have confidence I'll be better afterwards.

Deep question!! I like it!
Sadness takes you to happiness...It makes happiness more enjoyable...
Sadness does take one to a different place...even if it is dark as you say...its an experience we all share. (the darkness is just observed differently by diff ppl)
if sadness wasnt an emotion...there wouldnt be happy b/c we'd all be happy...there cant be one w/o the other...

Yes, I guess it makes people stronger. If people are not sad then some great songs wouldn't be written back in the day.
