I have already went to the control panel and deleted some applicatios that i did not need, and i have emptied my recycle bin.
But what are some other ways to make my computer run faster without having to buy anything??

deleting cookies , history and temp files, defragging the pc and running a good regristry cleaner

YES AMIGO you can do this 1.go to mycomputer 2.on hard drive rigth click 3. then tools 4. defragment now
this will clean some stuff the computer doesn't need.

run a good spyware program and antivirus program,also defragment your harddrive.just to name a few things you can do
