I just dropped my Dell Inspiron 2200 onto the tile floor from the bed. It was about a 2 foot drop, which in most cases wouldnt have hurt it that bad, but considering the fact that it bounced I think it is what led to the reason the screen is showing up shattered from the inside. Does anyone know what I could possibly do to save it? Can the screen be replaced?

Any help or assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

i checked on ebay,

a brand new screen is going to cost you around 150 bucks. it needs replaced. you take it to dell they are going to charge you three times that to fix it. Buy a new one from the many vendors in the link above, and find someone who knows how to change it, or download the service manual from dell.com and do it yourself. it's not that hard. I've changed out 2 of them on different dell models, it's pretty easy to do.
now hopefully that isn't all that's wrong with it. I'd hook it up to an external monitor first and see if that was the only damage that was done. I'd definetly do that before i spent a dime on a new screen.

First, you should price how much it's going to cost to get a new LCD. This site is pretty good for pricing

Then you will have to do the procedure of replacing. Here's a basic step by step guide.

Probably cheaper to just get a new laptop. You might try rebooting it. Good Luck
