I mailed my check in for deposit on sat. jun 28, and it hasnt shown on my account yet. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, and how long does it normally take for the deposited amount to show on your account? Its stressful.

I didnt mail the check to a bank in my state (WA). I sent it to the Headquarters (which is in ohio i believe) address which was pre labeled and as a part of the deposit slip. The check has also been endorsed by me.

Mailed on June 28th? With the mid-week holiday, the post office probably hasn't delivered it yet. Figure on seven "mailing days" to get from WA to OH. That means the check will arrive at the bank tomorrow (July 7).

Then it will take 2-3 business days to clear, since it is likely an out of state check. So I wouldn't worry much until the middle of next week.

If it doesn't appear by then, I would contact the bank to see if it was received. If not, contact the issuer of the check and have them issue a new one (they will probably check to be sure the check has not been cashed which will take a few days more).

Good luck!

in developed countries, it shows the day after the deposit is made.

Of course, the bank has to have the deposit information [account number and name], plus you have to have endorsed the cheque over to them [or have an agreement allowing them to endorse cheques for you].

usually, most folk have this all arranged ahead of time, so ...

I suspect the problem here isn't the bank, but rather the post. Everyone has heard fo occasions when the post has lost an item, or even mangled it. ouch.

if that's happened, you'll have to contact the issuer of the cheque to have a replacement made up. Might take a few weeks.

A deposit should be posted no more than 2 days after the bank enters it onto your account.

If it's going to another state it usually takes about 7 business days.
