Please tell me this is supposed to be a comedy and not a serious horror film.

It's actually a horror/comedy in the same style as DEAD-ALIVE by Peter Jackson (yes, the same one who did the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy). I just saw it On Demand and LOVED it! It's only available at some theaters in limited release right now, or on your On Demand cable channel, depending on the system you use. If you can't see it either way, don't worry. Another five minutes or so and it will be on DVD.

It's both. It's a funny horror movie.
Of course, with all these companies mixing genes and making mice with ears growing out of their backs, you never can tell...
