As far as I know, there is no liscence requirements for having or selling venomous reptiles in N.Carolina. I would not be pulling them from the wild however. There are few enough these days without you taking more. Most labs will not take wild snakes from an unknown person. There is the risk of contamination of the others in their collection with disease, and parasites. Many labs are breeding their own snakes to keep the numbers up without having to pull from the environment. Learn to enjoy them where they are and stop thinking about just using them to make money.

You would do better to contact someone who specializes in snakes. There are plenty of them in California. In many cases, keeping venomous snakes is illegal.

If you have a collector's permit and the proper training and licenses to transport the animals, etc., then some research labs will pay for them... but most of these labs are pretty picky about where the animals come from.

Instead, join your local herpetological society and learn about your local animals and opportunities.

Leave them in the wild where they belong.
If you need money get a job- if you're even old enough.
