well of course... those fish are peaceful.

but i still have something to tell you too:

1. dwarf gouramis (especially males) gets very very aggresive during its mating season, it'll chase other fish who gets too near to its bubble nest. but don't worry he won't kill, though the chasing IS stressful for the victim!!! separating the pair from the tank before they mate is best, and better if you separate 'em before the male build the nest in the main tank...

2. guppies mollies and platies... these fish breed a lot! you'll soon be seeing some cute lil fries swimming in the tank, but if you're not careful, it'll be the last time you see the newborn cuties! adult fish, even the parents won't recognize 'em and will eat 'em - thinking of 'em as food...
get lots of shelter like plants and hollow rocks to help the fries to hide, or just separate the pregnant females temporarily in a breeder trap or another comfortable tank.

3. the balas can reach up to 35cm! while those other fish can only reach around 6 - 12cm... not fair for them as maybe they'll get scared or the balas will take their food...

well thats all i can help you... good luck!

Generally those are all compatible fish. Sometimes certain gourami for example can have an attitude problem and be less than a good tank mate so there are exceptions to the rule.

The single biggest problem I see on your list is the Bala Shark. Those guys can easily grow to 10" in an aquarium, are active swimmers that need loads of space and to top it off should be kept in a group of 6 or more. To properly care for Bala Sharks you need something around a 135 - 150 gallon tank. So unless yours is that size, you might want to remove the Bala from your list.

it depends a little bit on which type of gourami you mean, usually the dwarf varieties can be pretty docile, but not the larger ones and you still want to keep an eye on the dwarfs for nipping, i would avoid the bala sharks, while they are fairly low key they get about a foot long which Means smaller fish will quite probably end up being lunch. tetra again depend on the type but most should work out just fine. good luck and have fun

Black tetras are sometimes a bit nippy if not in a school. I think the Bala sharks will get too big. I think the Gouramis will get too big for the guppies. They are really vulnerable with those big tails. I hope this isn't just a 10 gallon tank? I'd personally leave off the gouramis unless they are a smaller one, like a gentle pearl gourami. The blue gouramis get big.

Gouramis are very aggressive, it would not be good to put too many in a tank with the rest of what you have listed. In addition, Bala sharks are also aggressive and like to jump out of the tank if it isn't completely covered. Stick with the Tetras, Guppies (although very boring), Mollies and Platties. They make a good community tank are are very easy to maintain. Good luck!!!

Yes, these fish are perfect for a community tropical tank.

However, the Bala Shark will grow very large and will eta any smaller thing that can fit into its mouth.
