I just had my first exam with my doctor for my pregnancy. He did a pelvic exam & pap smear. I just noticed i have a small amount of bleeding-the toilet paper was pink. Has anyone had this & had it not turn out to be a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage last year at 5 weeks, so I'm worried this will be the same.

Don't start worrying now and stressing. Its totally normal especially with pregnant women. During pregnancy our cervix's are more sensitive so therefore exams and sex will make us spot. If the bleeding gets worse to where you have to use a pad then i would call your Dr or go to your hospital. but right now don't worry cause its normal. Good luck and congrats.

Don't freak out it's normal .
It has happened to me
turns out i was fine.
I too have had a miscarriage but NOT from an exam
The blood is only because when the doc does a
pap smear test they cut a very small amount
of tissue. you will be fine
relax and get some rest
Good Luck

When your doctor does a pap smear, it can irritate the cervical tissue and cause it to bleed. My doctor explained it to me like imagine scratching the back of your nose. It's going to bleed, right? But it's not serious.
Be sure to call your doctor if you have bleeding like a menstrual period or any cramping as those may be signs of a miscarriage.

your doctor should have told you that you might bleed after the exam a little bit. if it doesn't stop after a day call them up and tell them. in a very few rare cases it can cause miscarriage.

It's normal. It almost always happens to me after exams, and I've had 2 children and I am 27 weeks along with number 3. Hope that helps. :)

If it turns heavier, or doesn't go away, just call your doc to be sure.

This is normal. I spot after each pelvic exam, and it happened when I was pregnant too.
