in the state of california, can you get into trouble with the cops for skinny dipping in your backyard pool? I usually go swimming at night by myself since i love the peace and quiet, but we have kids on all houses near us. So I figured that If i go swimming at night without a bathing suit it would be ok. A family member recently told me that if a neighbor see's me they could call the cops and have me arrested for indesent exposure. is that true?

We have 6ft wooden fence on all sides but about 6ft is chain link and can be viewed from the front yard, but i take my suit off when i get in the pool and have my towel handy for when i get out and i only swin naked at night with no outside lights on.

Yes, it's true that if your neighbours have an unobstructed, natural view of you in your backyard naked that you can be arrested for indecent exposure if they wished to press charges.
If they have to take extreme lengths to obtain a view of you back there, then they can be charged with invasion of privacy.

Just go ahead and do it. To HELL with prudes. Why should you NOT be able to skinny dip in your own daggone backyard?
Now I don't live in Ca. but I seriously doubt it's illegal. The fast way to find out? Dial your local police non-emergency no. and ask them.

I think so. Unless you have a fence of a certain height, it is possible to be accused of indecent exposure.

If they see you (weather they are being a peeping tom or not) and they call the cops, you can be arrested. Especially if the person calling in is female.

Whether it is legal or not it is Immoral. It is a sin against GOD. If GOD had intended for people be be naked we would be born that way. Oh, uh, huh never mind.
