White people brought black people over from their country to the US in chains so they can clean up, cook and grow their crops, but black people are called LAZY. Black people have advanced and become just as successful if not more successful that whites but black people are called IGNORANT. Black people have influenced every area of American culture but are called STUPID. White people own the boats and planes that bring drugs into this country but black people are called DRUGGIES. Black people are everywhere in the US. In the poor neighborhoods and the rich ones. They are in every state of the US. .
A white woman gave me her version of why racism exists: it was assumed that the black race would die off after slavery ended and when it didn't, whites became afraid of blacks and what they would do to them.
Why do white people think that a white man discovered America? How can you discover a land that had people on it when you arrived? IRNORANT? STUPID? LAZY? Somebody got it wrong.

Wow. You have a chip on your shoulder. And your thread is loaded with generalizations that cannot possibly apply to all whites, or all blacks for that matter. I hope you can broaden your horizons and spend some time with people who think differently. Sometimes when a group of people keep saying the same thing over and over, it gets louder and louder whether its true or not.
We aren't all like that. You've built up a pretty big wall--a hateful one--that other people might not be able to bring down-- you'll have to work on it as well.

Unfortunately there is a lot of racism in this world from all cultures , not just white. Whilst there has been some progress in many sectors , I'm sure it is not enough and not fast enough for the people being effected by it. In answer to your question , not all white people hate black people . In some areas it it very easy for blacks that have been the victims of racism to hate whites but that does not help the situation either. It is a problem with no easy solution as it is difficult to change peoples views but not impossible.

I can sit here and tell you that we should all just get along and love one another, but it is unrealistic when so many white supremacists and imperialists are alive and kicking in the same country we built with our African hands. I know what you feel and the best way to handle this is to educate yourself independently of The History channels and most text-books because you will be given and one-sided, biased opinion aka- "HIS-story".
We are not a stupid, lazy, people. We are the people who not only built the great pyramids of Egypt and Sudan, but built a strong civilization with art, science, and mathematics(which is being systematically "white-washed" the people who brought you the first heart transplant surgery, the people who made the street light, the people who built the white-house, and foremost, the people who endured and who still endure. We the descendants of the slave. We face adversity each day, unlike any other person can know, yet we still survive. We are survivors.

Let me tell you something I, Ashwin Mohan agree with you a 100%. You have a very good point. I don't care about the people who have replied badly to you but. you are just one of a kind. You are a kind person. I am Indian and I have friends of so many races after all they are people but, if a guy discriminates then that makes me unhappy. Black people are not given apartments whereas white people are in my community. I feel extremely sorry for them.
It is all in the mind. There are white people who like black people but, somewhere in Texas they hate em'. It is all in the mind. People need to be told the right thing and one thing for sure is that George Bush hates black people. He would have helped when they were more whites than blacks (Katrina). Such idiots should not exist in society. Rather than a black guy getting lynched or beaten in the South.

All people are equal, just people remember black people doing bad things and they all almost look the same so they never no if they are a nice person or bad person. Not all white people think that of blacks also!

I am white and I dont hate black people. I am totally against racism, I totally agree with you, I wish that some white people would just realize that everyone is equal.

I think we all need to work together to see each other as just people. Whatever race you are, having an "us" and "them" attitude doesn't bring us any closer to a solution to racism. I think a lot of prejudice comes from being unfamiliar. I grew up in Phoenix and I don't like to admit it but when I meet a black person, their skin color is the first thing I see. I don't like it but its true. When I meet someone Mexican it's not that way because I've been surrounded by Mexican family & friends my whole life. The key is to make an effort to get to know people of all races.. really get to know them as people. Be interested in other cultures as well, instead of convinced that the way you are and what you do is superior. Some people want to be racist and they are hard nuts to crack but just trying to live your life for yourself and try not to let them get in your way I guess is my best advice. Being full of anger hurts you and gives racists what they perceive as fuel to justify their feelings.

I'm Asian. I can't speak for white people, nor can any white person speak for all white people. Especially the disrespectful white people. I can tell you that not all white people hate blacks. Every individual makes their own choices. You can't hold one person's mistakes and apply them to someone else. I understand that you might have run into some trouble with some white people, but believe me, there are many open-minded white people out there and you will meet some. Awesome questions! People like robert shelton are jealous and insecure. They feel intimidated by African American people. I can start listing accomplishments but I dont need to.
The point is, all of this from people who they tried to keep from reading, from voting, people whose grandparents they hung for no reason, they castrated because of jealousy. People they hurt just because they could.
But you know what? We still stand boldly, beautifully, and proud. Topping list economically. Racist tried to ruin us. But they cant!! Its not possible.
