MySpace started as a way for new bands to get their music heard and for kids to be able to see and hear those bands. It has quickly spread to include models and actors who want to be seen and heard, authors who want their books publicized, entrepreneurs who want to get their business off the ground and the average Joe who wants to be part of some big thing. MySpace has become the largest social networking site; meaning that a lot of people has registered and the community has taken on a life of hits own with it own economy. Whenever something new is publicized on MySpace, it's most likely going to be a hit. Even Madonna released her music on MySpace!
As a result, a giant news media company, News Corp, owned and operated by the billionaire Rupert Murdock, purchased MySpace for an extraordinary sum of money, so he can take advantage of the advertising power of the website.
What's so great? My space has become the vehicle of choice for advertising because it's free and almost everybody is plugged in!

well i have a myspace and i love it!!!!
It gives you a chance to make new friends and get in tuch with the ones that you already have.
your profile tells people about you and what kind of person you are. Also it gives you a chance to express your creativity.
and you can set your profile to private so that not every one can see your profile and your pictures.
It's really fun, but if you do get one, try not to get addicted because it's hard to stop.

I used to think this was a great site for learning HTML
It still kinda is but not since their changes of all the links changing to msplinks.

I have one, but I mostly just check mine for messages or comments, then I listen to music while I do something else on the computer.

whats so great about myspace is for people to talk and to get to no each other from different places. to me it doesn't make sense cause you can do that on the phone and outside so I hope that answer your question

well... i have one too, but i think its cuz its fun to have your own website i guess...some people might even do it to keep them self from being bored. it ALL depends on the person.
