I was on Ebay looking for my son a cell phone......

When I came across a "lady" that has bought 66 cell phones in the last month. She has bought them at various auctions , in lots or as singles. Price doesn't seem to bother her just that they are all the same model.

Can someone give me a reasonable answer for this behavior?
Am I just watching to much news coverage? I am not trying to be paranoid but this does seem strange to me.

** I kept seeing her nickname while checking the feedback of sellers. It seemed weird to me but I thought I would ask .....

Good question . . . and a smart eye !

It's the sharp-eyed folk like you who help stop the terrorists in their tracks.

Pass your observations on to your local F.B.I.

There's no guarantee they'll act on your tip, but at least you'll sleep better at night knowing you did your part . . .

Personally, my hat's off to you . . . . ! :-)

Added note: that's exactly how they caught the Muslim terrorist in the States. An alert clerk at Wal-Mart tipped off the police and reported the guy buying a couple of hundred cellphones which were going to be used as bomb triggers.
And don't forget the "Fort Dix Nine" who were nailed after an alert clerk at a Kinko's reported that video to the cops.

As far as terrorism is concerned, it's w-a-a-a-y better to err on the side of paranoia than indifference. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean Muslim terrorists aren't out to kill you....

Very simple. She is trying to corner the market on that brand of cell phone. I see nothing wrong with having 66 cell phones. Now when you get to 666 that is another story because that is evil. No one has 666 children except maybe Saddam. But 66 is a reasonable amount.

It sounds a bit strange to me because why would anyone want that many of the same model? and especially with cost not being an object? I definitly dont think you are being paranoid about it but maybe she is doing it for some sort of science project or something. There is this one group where I live that people buy up peoples stereos, dvd players and stuff like that (whether they work or not) and its for projects they do in college.

The internet and shopping can be addictions just like anything else. If someone is in the depths of addiction, reason flies right out the window. Maybe that lady really likes that style of cell phone and wants to have as many as she can get. Maybe she thinks she might lose one and wants to have a backup. Maybe she plans to give them as gifts. Trying to figure out why someone does anything is very hard. I'm just glad I dont have that lady's credit card bill.

Nah...-Fear is like the Flu...-One person comes down with it & the next thing you know, everyone starts feeling alittle "queazy"... That "lady" is probably reselling those cell phones (as "New"-I suspect) for a profit in Mexico- to poor people who don't know any better.

Maybe you should contact the directors at Ebay. You might be on to something here.

Have you thought that she may have a problem?
Maybe she loves that phone!
Seriously, what model phone is it?
I'd love to have a look myself!
