To live! The thing that makes life have meaning is the relationships that we share with one another. The laughter and joy with our family and friends brings richness sometimes to even the most mundane of tasks, because we do things not out necessity, but love and caring.
Life isn’t meant to eternal, the brief time we have here gives us purpose. Our short existence adds value to the choices we make, because we may not get another chance to make another choice.
For example; like a flower blooming sharing it’s beauty with us, it’s brief glimmer of beauty makes us appreciate it more. Unlike fake flowers which may be beautiful, just isn’t the same because it isn’t real.
Therefore if you lived a real life filled with rich relationships, you then understand death is a natural part of life. Though sad is the departure, rich still are the memories.

Well the devil will make whatever is most precious to you very difficult to get, so pursuing that is the purpose and meaning of life.
For example, it may not be much to someone else, and they can get it all the time, but for you it means everything.
