I said that the Harry Potter character Ginny needs to learn not to pick up things that don't belong to her and that she got what was coming to her. I'm getting thumbs down, so answer this: If you found a book laying on the ground that said '(insert name here)'s journal/diary' would you just take it and start writing in it? Even for an eleven year old kid in a fantasy book, she is surprisingly stupid.

Stop and think about how poor the Weasleys are. They can't even afford to get their kids new school equipment, thus their kids either have to rely on hand-me-downs from the older sibblings or else they have to have to purchase most of their school items used.
No place yourself in Ginny's shoes. Too poor for your parent's to get you all new items for school, you expect everything you get to be used. So going through all your school supplies you find a diary that belonged to someone else. What choice do you really have but to use it?
Ginny didn't pick Riddle's diary up off the ground and decide to start using it. She found it in her school supplies and had to believe it was purchased for her. What she, nor her parents, knew was that Lucius Malfoy had slipped the diary into Ginny's school supplies so he would not be caught with it at his house.

Ginny DID NOT pick the diary up. Lucius Malfoy slipped it into her cauldron. Since she gets second hand books she probably thought that someone just left a diary in there. When she found out the diary would right back with nice responses, why would she throw it away??

I gave you a star because I felt sorry for you. Someone reported me cause I called them "lame". I shoulda known better than to pick on a kid in Jr. High. But yeah thats your opinion, some people dont like what they see and take it personal so they wanna get back at you.

She didn't 'pick it up,' Lucius Malfoy stuck it in a cauldron she had her schoolbooks in.
And if I recall, it didn't say his name on the front, did it? I thought it only said whose it was to Harry. (I could actually be wrong on this one, I've not read it quite a while.)
>_> If I knew it wasn't blank, I WOULD pick it up cause I'm nosy bugger like that. Otherwise I wouldn't. (haha, I somehow forgot to type that out, but I sure as hell thought it)

I hate it when people give thumbs down for no reason, but that is just the world we live in - too few people have respect for the opinions of others
there, now you have some stars - are you feeling better?
