Ok. Durant, yes that was good. But the outlook for the Sonics staying in Washington seem to shrinking. Ray's gone, Lewis is gone, and just tonight, I found out that Lenny Wilkens is resigning. They threw him out of his position as the Sonics' President of Basketball Operations which he acquired only this year on april 27, and back to vice chairman when Presti arrived. I was all excited that the Sonics would have a great season, and now all of the sudden I am having doubts. I have supported them since I was really youngt. I will be truly sad if they leave. I know while most people don't care, but I also know there are a lot who do, like me. We'll probably get some expansion team if they move, but it won't be the same. I am concerned that it is not going to go the way I want it, and that they have one season left in Washington.

Yeah I'm glad that he's there, but it's too bad he got choked by Spreewell. But will Carlesimo be enough to get the Sonics to be a conference championship contender?

Whoever said Lewis is signing with the Kings, he already is accepting a 5 year contract for $75 million with the Magic.

The Lewis deal is likely to be a sign and trade and may even be part of a three way deal with the Sacremento Kings.

The Sonics have clearly decided to rebuild around Durant and Green. Durant is a stud and Green is a potent offensive scorer. Depending on what happens with trades and the like they also have athletic big men in Wilcox and Collison (although one of them may be traded) and several useful pieces. It eill probably take a couple of seasons but they could be a emerging force in the West in a few years as some of the existing big names leave the stage.

As for staying in Seattle that really is more at the feet of the city and the fans. They have seemed reluctant to upgrade facilities and the fans haven't been selling the arena out. If they make positive moves early then I think staying is the prefered option but you cant blame ownership for looking for a way out.

i dont think the sonics will leave that easily, im sure durant is selling a lot of tickets right now. and i honestly dont think PJ is that great of a hire. look, his last head coaching job was like 8 years ago. thats a long time. there is a huge difference between a head coach and a assistant. he is lucky that popavich was running the show and PJ was just there letting pop do his thing. the sonics will take some bumps this season, they wont be a playoff team right away. and i dont like that they draft jeff green so high, i think they should have gone with Yi Jianlian, because to me, jeff green is just a role player while Yi can be really good, not to mention he would boost the sonics economy because there is a large asian population in washington and Yi will do for seattle what Yao did for houston, which is bring in the growing chinese economy.

I would have thought things were finally looking up for the Sonics. You just got 2 great new players and a proven coach. If P J performs the way I expect him to--and I've been watching him here in San Antonio for the last 5 years--your future may be a lot brighter than you think. And if the team improves the way I think it will, your arena troubles will disappear. Don't give up yet.

As bad as it may seem the Sonics are rebuilding. Which means they will suck for probably the next 2 years. It also is alot worse because of the arena situation. They have at least 3 seasons left in Seattle if they are held to their current lease. 1 if Clay Bennett somehow manages to buyout the lease, which he most certainly will try to do. Lets hope the Sonics get that new arena built and keep them in the NW where they belong.

Don't worry about it. The Sonics are just trying to rebuild the team, similar to what the Blazers were doing. Give both teams a couple of years and they'll develop into championship contenders. Though, it is true that Durant will need more help...

The Sonics just got P. J. Carlesimo, man. He is an awesome coach with the right system, and I think the Sonics are the right system.
