Compare and contrast two of Dickinson’s poem that deal with the subject nature, namely “Simplicity” and “A Bird Came Down The Walk”. What techniques does she use to create her indelible images?

Simplicity

HOW happy is the little stone ,That rambles in the road alone,
And does n’t care about careers, And exigencies never fears; Whose coat of elemental brown, A passing universe put on; And independent as the sun, Associates or glows alone, Fulfilling absolute decree. In casual simplicity.

A Bird Came Down The Walk

A BIRD came down the walk: He did not know I saw;
He bit an angle-worm in halves, And ate the fellow, raw.
And then he drank a dew, From a convenient grass,
And then hopped sidewise to the wall, To let a beetle pass
He glanced with rapid eyes,That hurried all abroad,
They looked like frightened beads, I though, He stirred his velvet head, Like one in danger; cautious, I offered him a crumb, And he unrolled his feathers And rowed him softer home, ....
