dsw (designer shoe warehouse) is located in mission valley.
nordstrom also has a good selection of shoes.
aldo is a store at various malls (fashion valley, utc, horton plaza, etc.) that sell trendy shoes for both men and women.

There's a shoe warehouse store...can't remember the name...in Mission Valley just off Mission Center Road near the Borders bookstore. They have a wide selection of shoes.

For really nice shoes and great selection, I keep coming back to Nordstroms. Not the cheapest, though. But Nordstrom is the best.
