There are a number of things you can do with children in Las Vegas now:
1. Circus Circus (my favorite for years!): This is great because not only do they have the circus acts that are quite good, but above the casino they have games for the kids to play (pay to play and win prizes - not difficult to win, either). They also have video games and McDonald's up there as well. And for the older kids there is an INDOOR amusement park in the back of the hotel as well - it has a bright pink dome - can't miss it! They have a nice rollercoaster, a water ride and various other smaller rides for younger kids. There are games out there, too - this is great because you can stay in and have fun during the heat in the summertime.
2. Excalibur: This is at the other end of the Las Vegas strip. It is actually owned by the same company that owns Circus Circus. There are also games to play like they have in Circus Circus, but they are usually more expensive. There are also video games (the game area is downstairs under the casino in this hotel). The Excalibur is also home to the Medieval Times show - very fun for families! Oh, and just outside the buffet they have shows every hour or so - magicians, jugglers, etc.
3. Across the street from Excalibur is New York New York - they have an outdoor rollercoaster and some indoor games, but not quite as many.
4. The Luxor (pyramid) hotel and casino is fun to go in and they have a boat ride, but there is not much more to do there.
5. Across the street from New York New York is the M&M factory and store - it is several stories high and you can get all kinds of M&Ms! In that same area is a relatively new movie theater as well.
6. The Venetian is somewhat fun - there are gondolas you can ride in and the best gelati (Italian ice cream) outside of Italy!
7. The Stratosphere is always a good place for a nice view of the strip - just something to do if you have the time.
8. The Mirage - of course they have the white tigers!
The only place you cannot take the kids is Bellagio - you must be over 18 (or be a guest in the hotel). But the fountains out front are unbelieveable - they move to the beat of background music that is playing loudly. It is amazing to see!
Also, if you have access to a car while you're there, take a drive to Boulder Dam - it's amazing and kids love it! If you're going to be there for more time, you can rent a boat or jetski on Lake Mead.
Hope this helps!

There are some great activities to do in Las Vegas with families. I visit there often for family and I have a 7-year old and these are all approved by her! I hope you have a great time with your family!
Hoover Dam Tour – very cool and historical.
Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage – animals are well taken care of and it is a nice facility.
Las Vegas Zoo – small and reasonable, not impressive – but it is a destination.
Magic Show, like Rick Thomas – geared towards the family and they have 2:00 P.M. shows. There is also a Pet show, but the magic shows are cool.
Red Rock Canyon – visit the park, see wild creatures – it’s a nice drive with good scenery.
KidsQuest at the Station Casinos – Now this is my high recommendation! KidsQuest is a babysitting facility for all ages with many fun activities. The kids play while the parents get to visit the casino and have a nice, romantic dinner, catch a movie, bowl, or gamble. Family time is great, but sometimes a break from all that togetherness is beneficial for all! Reasonable rates too.
The Pool – spend the day in the hotel’s pool. Most of the hotels have outstanding pools.
Star Trek: The Experience – Okay, I’m a trekky and this is a great ride/adventure. You actually get beamed aboard the Enterprise! You can even eat at the Star Trek restaurant. It’s in the Las Vegas Hilton on Paradise Rd.
Centennial Hills Park – City of Las Vegas Parks. This park in particular I have been to and it is good for young ones with a water feature. Pack a picnic and spend the morning or late afternoon (it’s hot).
I believe the MGM has an amusement park too, but I haven’t gone.

There are a lot of shows to see. There's an underwater aquarium, tiger show, rides, and much more to do with families. My daughter and I went 3 years ago and had a blast. We loved the water show at the Balagio (not sure on spelling). We never left the strip and stayed busy without going to the casinos (except for walkig through them to get to other areas). There's all kinds of information at the motels on what to enjoy. Hope you have a good time!

Drive out to Red Rock Canyon, tour Hoover Dam, boat tour on Lake Mead. In Vegas there are lots of things at Circus Circus, I think there is also an amusement or waterpark there now, Awesome drop ride down the side of one of the hotels. Hang out by the pool, although some close at night.

You could go to the Mirage and look at the animals. Now that they don't do the tiger show anymore, they have a little zoo-like thing near the hotel with tigers, elephants, dolphins, stuff like that. The animals are beatiful, and you'll have a great time! Except for the heat.
(When I went it was a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure it's still there)

I hope you are not thinking of going in the summer. It is HOT there. Like around 100 to 120 degrees between 1 June and 15 September. Other times are great .

Lock the kids in the room and go have fun --- No don't do that!!1
Show them the hotel pool - let 17 yr old supervise.
Could take them to M&M store next to MGM Grand - 4 stories. Good for a couple of hours anyway.

Las Vegas is not a place to take children. The shows that will allow children that young in will be well over $100 a person. I would find another location to visit.

we went with our kids when they were 8,10 and 13. Aside from hanging at the pools and shopping, Vegas is not really good for kids anymore. I would not take them back. there are things to do, but few, and if you want to see a show, it's about $60 a ticket. If you have time to just lay by the pool, great, but I would go all the way to vegas to do that. There are arcades (Excalibur is great this department) but still....I'd pass.
