Perisher at Jindabyne. It is about two - three hours away and thredbo is probably another half an hour away. Both resorts have about 1 metre bases at the moment.

Perisher Blue and Thredbo are only a few hours from Canberra. Easy enough to do day trips. Both take about the same time to get to and both are in NSW.

Brindabella Range, about 40 minutes drive west up the Mt Franklin Rd.

There's snow in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and you could cross the Tasman and go to New Zealand they have some pretty good snow fields there.
