People say if u have small eyes u should put eyeliner on the top. Well I put thick wet eyeliner on the bottom, inside my eyes and on the top and my eye's looked quite bigger! stood out more. Why is this? isnt it suppose to make it look smaller?

I've read that thick lines can actually make your eyes look smaller. Try using different color eyeliners (navy, purple, etc.) Also, it's not wise to overdue it. By lining your entire eye, you are creating a boundary, per say. White eyeliner can make your eyes look bigger. Also try lining only a small portion of your eye (half of the lid- from the outer edge to the middle only). Try only lining the bottom or the top only. When lining the bottom, I find it better to put eyeliner under the lashes.

If you do a heavy smokey eye, then yes it will make you look like a panda and your eyeballs like a pea.
But when you use eyeliner, you are actually drawing out the new dimensions of your eye. Almost like correcting the line, it gives the illusion of a bigger eye since your eyeliner is THICKER than what your eyes would normally look like.
Extra tip: If you wing out your liner at the outter corners, it'll probably make it look even bigger. Good luck!

I can only think that it made you eyes stand out more because of such a lot of eyeliner, that it made them more obvious so it seems bigger.
If you join the eyeliner all around your eye it is smaller, but if you do the top, and bottom, but dont join it in the inner of your eye (only join at your temples) then it looks bigger.

the dark liner up and down the eye gave a larger definition which made ur eyes look bigger
the liner should not b very thick for it to reduce the eye size

thick line makes ur eyes smaller....and it will make ur eyes smaller... yet what u can do is draw a medium thick line and improve it upwards after it covers ur entire eye.. it could help u...
