ordered rigatoni and when I brought it out, she said she wanted BAKED rigatoni, which has cheese melted on top, and I said "Oh, I am sorry. Did you say baked and I didn't hear you?" I was very busy, so it was very possible. And, she goes, "It doesn't matter whose mistake it was!" in a very annoyed tone... "Just fix it!" and I had it fixed right away and brought it back and she said it was fine and her coffe was full the whole entire time, and her bread basket was never empty, and her table was cleared of all debris in a timely fashion. And I smiled at her and I brought extra olive oil to them and made sure they had everything they wanted. And they stiffed me. I don't really care too much. I didn't lose any sleep over the proverbial $3. that they most likely would have left, anyway, BUT.. I just wonder... What the heck? Think it was about the rigatoni thing? I am trying to figure it out because when I asked her if she said BAKED and I didn't hear, I wasn't trying to indicate any fault o

Oh, it is long And insignificant by all accounts. I don't blame anyone for being completely putrified by it. Its just... waitressing is like a sport to me. And I am good. I almost always get 20% or greater...

I have worked in this typeof service where you depend on tips and you give your best service to the people and it does kind of hurt when they act like you don't deserve one. Sometimes I think old people will do this, usually women, so in their mind they have an "excuse" not to leave a tip so their husband doesn't see what a bit*h they really are. lol♥j

I ve ignored some shows since I refused to watch Disney and Cartoon Network. I remember Klasky Csupo, Rugrats, (watching it right now.) Hey Arnold, The wild thornberries, Rocko s Modern life, My life as a teenage robot, Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, ETC. I remember playing with only a ball, hitting it against a tree and just use my imagination. I remember playing outside more than I do right now as a sixteen year old. I didn t have a care in the world. I would hang out more with my grandma and plant things, clean, play with my old cat, playing in the park, being afraid of monkey bars, eating icecream from the icecream machine. (Which I stopped from a long time ago.) I didn t care about my studies, Watched Television more than studying, My DSI and Flipnote Hatena/Flipnote studio, staying up all night writing with others on Hatena. I remember loving to rollerblade all the time and taught myself while holding onto a chair, etc. I know this post is old, but oh well. :-)

dont be hard on yourself. im a waitress too, and sometimes people ar just azzholes. u could have done evrything perfect and they would have still stiffed u. i'v done perfect and gone out of my way for people, just to have them stiff me. it sucks. people like that will have to deal with the bad karma. its possible she never intended to tip u and just made something up to be mad about. people go into restaurants all the time and claim something is wrong just so they can get a free meal. dont even sweat it.

ok i would guess that you could have brought her the baked the first time fed it to her wiped her mouth and put her down for a nap and you still wouldnt have gotten a tip some people just never tip no matter what. i have never been a waitress but i always tip if bad srv not so good if good svs very well... but my mom never tips and it ticks me off so bad.

yikes! i can't believe you said that to her!!! your response to the old lady telling you she wanted something different seems rude, and that you have an attitude. (although i'm sure you didn't mean it to be). by saying you didn't hear her, implies that you are putting the blame back on her for either forgetting to say the word baked or not speaking loudly enough. next time you should ask if the customer wants regular or baked rigatoni and avoid the mixup.

I could never waitress.. Too many stuffy, rude people out there that expect perfection.. I am far from perfect.. i think you handled the situation just fine, you didn't do anything wrong.. i think it is just who that person is. Don't take it as an insult to your skills.

i agree with queenfairy. some people are cheap and will do anything to make an opening to make their cheapness sound legitimate. she probably pitched a fit to him about the service to prove the point in her head that she is somehow better. she knows she isnt though otherwise she wouldnt need an excuse for being rude.
