A matter of Life and Death, best film you will ever see on the subject. Stars David Niven, Kim Hunter, Robert Coote, Roger Livesey. It timeless and a classic. Directed by Powell and Pressburger.

A film with Richard Dreyfuss as a pilot who fights fires and gets killed, strange thing i cannot remember the title, but its a bit of a weepie, stars Holly Hunter as the girlfriend.

Ghost of course though Patrick Swayeze is a bit wet.
Ghost and Mrs Muir, another classic.
Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner, its a bit slow to start but the ending is very moving.
Heaven Can Wait with Don Ameche, made in the 40's i think
they often play these films on TV.

Are you looking for a documentary like film or a real movie?
There is a movie call "what dreams may come" Its with Robin Williams-he plays a very serious part...its a wonderful movie about being reunited with his family up in heaven. But the events leading up to it are very depressing so I dont know if you would want to watch it. but still its an excellent movie....at the end it really makes you feel good. Thats the only one in that category I would highly recommend to anyone.
