what do yall think on the game. Altidore had a lucky 81' goal off a deflection. But props to Freddy for setting it up.

Playmaker-----Good Point. Altidore goal did win the game but that situation wouldn't have happened if the US hadn't played their hearts out. That is how every US MNT should play.

The goal may have been lucky, but luck had nothing to do with the win. USA were clearly the better team on the field today.

A great win for the USA! The US played better than Brazil and deserved to win fair and square. However, Brazil also had its moments and threatened the American goal but the goalkeeper just played well (except for the goal). A great game, I must add. Not that many fouls or tackles, the game was fluid. Brazil is always a great team, history books show that. This win was won because the U-20's had heart and knew how to control the game. The US could do very well in the U-20 World Cup and I'm hoping we can keep up with our play. Sorry Brazil, anyways you're still a great team and have great players. USA all the way! Thanks!

This was a great game! Very exciting! Both teams played well but the the US played better. I don't agree that Altidore's 2nd goal was just a lucky goal. He was in the right place at the right time. I think it was a bit of luck and him knowing where to be to back up Adu's shot if it went across the goal without being cleared out or saved. Way to go USA!! GO USA!!

What a great exciting game to watch, especially in that 2nd half. Both teams had great chances and both keepers really played well.

I don't know if I would classify Altidore as being lucky with that 2nd goal but it was nice to see him be in the right place at the right time to get it. It was good to see Freddy A actually play up to the hype.

Maybe but the USA put on a spectacular performance. They played much better than Brazil and deserved such a historical win. I'm glad that in soccer, sometimes there is justice. We have a great team (OK, Argentina is the super-favorite) and we can do very well in this WC. I'm not boasting or anything but I personally think it makes any fan proud if their team beats such a power house like Brazil. Hopefully, we'll erase that frustrating loss to Italy in the 2nd round in the 2005 version and we can make history. By the way, for my Mexican friends, you also have a great team (you're U-17 world champs for crying out loud, this is the beginning for the CONCACAF) and both Mexico and the USA are re-writing the history books. Come on CONCACAF (I'd like to see a USA- Mexico final, with the US winning), we're showing the world what we're made of. Come on USA!! Thanks!

What agreat game both teams played so well props to the US and Brazil has nothing to feel down about that was one of the best matches I have seen in a while! So many great saves by the US goalie(someone sign him if you haven't already, and look at Adu being the player he has the potental to be every match, I think he's gonna get alot of intrest in europe him and Altidore!

Brazil showed some major flare and threat and had some good possession id have to say. I wouldnt go as far to say they outplayed the US though. Brazil knew they had to win or face an uncertain future in the WC and played like everything was on the line. If brazil would have tied it, i would have been ok with that because they would have earned it. Although the US had a few sloppy moments they did what it had to do to preserve the win in an otherwise great game for the US. Incredible game for either side.

Awesome, Adu is amazing. I just now watched highlights of the Poland match.

Nao chora gustavo, isso nao e o fim do mondo. Quando voces perder contra nos no final da copa do mundo em Rio 2014, isso va estar of fim do mondo. HAHAHA It's not our fault we are a nation of immigrants, the way you brasileiros keep coming to this country we'll probably have brazilian players on the national team in 2014.

UPDATE: I should translate my smart aleck remarks to gustavo, I told him not to cry because this wasn't the end of the world. The end would be when the US team beat brazil at maracana stadium in rio for the WC2014 championship.

that game could have gone either way... the Americans were very lucky in the second half in not conceding more than the one goal.. and were also very lucky on that deflection coming off the Brazilian player for their second.. I don't think it's correct to say that you out played Brazil.. you really didn't.. both teams had their moments and in the end.. luck was the deciding factor.

Very entertaining game....

USA deserved the win.....Brasil is lacking and it seems like their only playmaker is Pato.....

Adu has really shown up at this tournament....
I think A LOT of these US players are playing the hearts out to get out of the USA and onto Europe because at this age....they need to be trained at that stage ......future of US Soccer looks good with these guys....
