Hi,

Divide both terms by 3. 3 will be the GCF.

15x - 3
-----...--- =
..3....3

3(5x - 1)

the only way to factor this is to take a factor of 3 out of 15 and the 3 because that's the highest factor common to both
so 15x - 3 can be factored into 3(5x-1)
