For a police officer, off duty means not being paid for his/her time. As long as they are officers, they have the FULL authority of officers. Many departments REQUIRE officers to carry their ID and weapon 24/7.

they are off duty when.. well they are not at work. lol when there not in uniform. just like any one else they go to work for a certain amount of time.. but as for do they carry a license, gun ect. i dont know but according to the other answers they do....

in texas you can carry your gun 24-7. you can arrest anywhere in the state

You don't need to be a cop to arrest anyone......CITIZEN"S ARREST!!! So you have the right to remain silent................
