Can girls play football?

Well they could if they were good enough, and tough enough. most girls arent used to getting hit as hard as guys do in the NFL. You may not realize it because the guys getin hit are so strong, they dont look like the hits are painful. Also, genetically, girls are not usually as fast as guys but if one were, they would still have to have the fundementals to play the game. If a girl wanted to play on offense, she would have to be able to catch, throw, be really strong, or run faster than most everyone on the team. There are a few women football leagues so that women have the opportunity to play football with women at their skill level and not get injured like they proablly would in the NFL.
*note i have nothing against women athletes, but that is my opinion with football*

You bet they can. My sophomore year we had two girls on the varsity team at my high school, one was the punter (she was awesome, also played soccer) and the other was a lineman. Believe it or not, both girls were pretty too. The one who played lineman wasn't like fat, she was just built really solid, and had a really pretty face. She owned this guy too when she got in this one time! Also, around the same time, there was a girl who played quarterback for a pop warner team, and all she did was lead them to the championship--and win it for them! She was an amazing athlete, and I think she could throw a spiral at least as far as I could, even though I was a guy and was older than her! She also took hits real well.

Football is a tough sport for anyone, but girls can play if they have the build and the willpower. I'd say that if a girl is about 5'7 or taller and between 150-250 pounds she can hang with the guys in high school football. That girl who played corner sounds amazing...I think it's so hot when girls play sports.

She'd have to be tall (in the 6 foot range) and be incredibly muscular. If she did play football with men, then she'd get creamed big time. Guys are just made differently than women.

I've heard of stories of girls playing for their high school teams, including a backup QB who threw for 3 TDs and winning a game.

Yeah, they can play. We had a 2 girls play on our school team in junior high and one of them kept playing through high school. She was our #3 varsity CB her senior year and was a pretty good player. She worked just as hard, if not harder than any guy on the team and earned every minute of playing time she got. Nothing demoralized the opposing team than her getting a good hit on a player or picking the ball off. She had 2 interceptions in the state semi finals, the last one in the end zone with about a minute to play to clinch the win for us and a 3rd straight trip to the state finals.

In a sport with as much contact as football, I couldn't imagine any guy comfortable with the idea of hitting a girl. And all the guys that WOULD be comfortable hitting a girl, I'm not sure we should encourage them at all.

I'm all for feminism and no limits for women and all, but I think there's some traditions we should hold onto... really, no one should be hitting anyone of any gender, but as long as most people can agree to not hit a certain group of people (women) then I think we should actually encourage that.

A few years back there was a girl kicker at a high school in Las Vegas USA Today rated the second best prep kicker in the nation, I,d say yes they can.

I play football, it's called powerpuff football-they have it at your school, you can sign up there. Oh and obviously boys seem to think they are wayyyy better than us in football, i kicked a guys butt once for saying that, Oh sorry that was way of topic.

I've never been able to decide this question that is asked so often. I'd LOVE to have her on my team, good or not. Noot because im a perv, but no guy can hit a girl.

I don't like hitting girls, even if they are in pads. I've seen friends play against girls in middle school, and they said it was difficult, because they didn't want to hit her, but they also didn't want her to beat them.
