So, the Vans Warped Tour is coming to a nearby city. I really like the bands that are in it this year and I just have one problem. My mom is the paranoid type. I am 17 and she is still worried about the safety there. There is no way she will let me go alone or with friends, and she doesn't even want the 2 of us to go, only because of safety. She even insisted that another adult go with us if we do go. Could someone who has an idea of what goes on there and the safety situation let me know what it's like? Thanks in advance.

I'm 16 and going this year with two other friends. It's in a nearby city ,about and hour away from where I live, so my parents are just going shopping while my friends and I are at the concert, so if we have any problems we can just call. The biggest thing is be aware of your surroundings and don't go anywhere alone. I hope she lets you go.

I have a pretty cool idea. I resently called into a local radio station asking for tickes to the warped tour, i got through( sadly they dont start giving out tickets until next week. But anyways the dj asked me how old i was and i said 15 he said im not even old enough to take u to the warped tour!
Maybe u should call in a local rock radio station and ask the dj to talk to ur mom!! that would be soo cool and ur mom might let u go!

Well the big issue is ill behaved folks who distribute drugs, alcohol and other contraband as well as those dubious who exploit young people for their own nefarious ends. When my daughter went (she was 17) we sent her with her friend and a trusted friend who was 27. He hung back and kept an eye and she had a great time - see if there is an older uncle, aunt or dear family friend that could play chaperon - she had a blast and we didn't worry for her safety. Good Luck!

dont go to warped tour. all the bands suck and it's nowhere near as good as it used to be. There used to be bands like rancid, and sublime, ya know, REAL PUNK. Now it's just simple plan and gay bands that are here today and gone tommorow. Save your money and buy a guitar and get good at it so someday you can maybe play at a good show instead of warped.
