Only few people own "digital cameras", read as owning more than one, most adults have a digital camera, especially with its inclusion in most mobile phones, but definitely not everyone has a digital camera. Hey as with everything, stop short before going "Everyone, All, etc. Generalizations generally make arguments weaker. There are age, economic and choice limitations precluding some people from owning digital cameras, yes even in America.

It makes sense if you have a computer. I mean, a roll of film costs, we'll say $3. (I don't even know how much they cost anymore) Then, to develop them you need another 7. Then, you don't get to pick which ones get developed unless you look at the negatives, (which is tricky) of you shoot slide film and look at the positives (which is expensive). You ened up with tons of photos that you didn't know didn't turn out until it's too late.

With digital, you know immediately if the shot turned out, you can shoot 1000 and it would cost the same as if you shot 10 (besides the batteries needed to shoot 1000 photos) and you can chose to print only the ones you want, for, as close-as-makes-no-difference to the same price as regular film developing, and you print only the ones you know you want.

Why doesn't everyone have a digital camera these days?

Every magazine has a camera ad every electrical store
has a huge display of cameras
ads on tv for cameras
cameras everywhere
i walk around places here and there when im out and about
i hardly ever see anyone taking pictures
apart from japanese tourists who will take a snap of anything
that is there! moving or not
i bought a vcr camera and apart from my family and dogs
there is absolutely nothing else to film
forget pointing the camera at complete strangers
the looks you get are worrying to say the least
and police will pass you in their car 20x until you move on
im not in russia by the way
no im in the uk

I do, because you can find them relatively cheap and then you don't have to spend money on film, and then spend even more money on getting that film developed into pictures.

Since I got my digital camera, I just uploud those pictures online and if I really did want an actual photo, I can send it to a photoprinter place like walmart.com and they'll print it for a few cents.

Love it!

No, I don't have one

I use an old fashion, but very good quality Cannon.

I simply borrow from my kid when I need a quick pic with a digital camera
