just to not use a bit of gas?

Since my husband and I live in a big city, we don't even own a car. We take busses virtually everywhere, and hire a cab only when we are bringing groceries home every two weeks. We could own a car or even two, but cars are like kids ... terribly expensive, and headaches to boot , but they don't give us grandkids (of which I have two, so far) so we like being 'ecological' and 'weird' ... and if we go anywhere tomorrow (which we probably won't do at all) we'll take the bus, as usual.

Almost everywhere if I "wanted" to.

Work
General Store
Dunkin Donuts
Restaurant
Post office
Bank
Library
Park
Town Hall
Church
CVS
supermarket
and gas station :)

Here's my say on this:

I'd like to walk but I'd rather have time to do the important things by getting the not so stuff out of the way. Then I can have peace of mine that its done and move on.
Then take a walk just to take a walk, no where special.
But, it is hot and its a busy road so if excuse can be used here, I am using it!!! heehee!! Besides its lucky 7 tomorrow..anyone getting married tomorrow.best of luck! :)
or having a baby, lucky baby! :)

When I had a part-time job at a store near my apartment, I used to walk to work. That is, until some guy pulled up beside me and told me to get into his car. I screamed and ran the rest of the way to work and have never walked anywhere since. It is unsafe for women to walk alone these days. That is just a sad fact.

Bah!!! I am going out of state tomorrow....I don't think walking is really an option.

Plus, I live in the South. You would die of heat stroke within like the first 15 minutes if you tried walking....it's supposed to be in the mid 90's tomorrow, and the humidity here is a right ******

I could, except I don't usually drive anywhere. I live in a small town and don't really go anywhere.

And I guess I will drive tomorrow, but I'm not walking 30 miles.

Yeah, why not. And I always ask myself, "Why do I drive to the market two blocks away when I can surely walk if I'm only getting a few things?"
I'll try it today.
