Yes, as soon as we are born our bodies start to die.

We are only here to reproduce.

Its **** and a waste of time.

And now you've depressed me b4 i go to bed - i'll have nasty little dreams - but if you let me win, then it will have been worth it.

Nite nite.

We're not sentenced to death in the tone you express it, or at least as I understood it. Yes, it is true, we are all going to leave this world some time or another but living forever would be preposterous and really saddening for the one who stays. If you lived forever, everything you love will die before your eyes and probably the world you knew may become completely strange to you.
if you are the kind of person who needs constant attention and who wants others to admire what you do, then you might probably be worried with what you do or what you leave as a contribution to the world before you die. everything must disappear and change, that is a law of nature, everything changes, even second by second you are no longer who you were second ago. That is the inevitable untranscendentality of matter.
All you can do is try to learn lessons and do the best you can and give the best of you. If you take death as an ending point then I see your point, for me it isn't. i don't know what's after it, though I've got a hint but let's wait and we'll find out. If there's something we'll face it, if there isn't you won't feel the difference.
Enjoy life and make the best of it. If you're always thinking about your possible dying anytime you'll never enjoy the present. ;)

It's true. Our first parents sentenced us to death when they first sinned. They were perfect but became imperfect when they disobeyed and they could not pass on perfection to their offspring so we could not get it back....except until Jesus died for us and when God's time is right, then we will once again be made perfect and have everlasting life on earth.
But yeah. I do find it sad that basically our first day of life is towards our first day of death as things are right now.
I think of Adam and Eve as a dented bread pan. When a pan has a dent in it even if you try to get it out, there will always be that imperfection in it so every loaf you make with that pan is going to have that dent in it. Every offspring from Adam and Eve and so on has that "dent" that they brought upon themselves.
I found my purpose in life though and I look forward to a time where we will be living in Paradise forever just the way God originally intended it to be.

**I don't believe in the whole fate thing, but when u say a person's life is governed and what about those who don't believe in God...who are they governed by?...that doesn;t mean they are not governed by it. Just because they don't believe in the God...if that's the real God then he can still have power over those who don't believe in him.

Also, some things that go along with the promised everlasting life is that NOBODY would die, you would not watch your children or people you love die. You could serve a God together, make the earth beautiful, learn languages, instruments, travel, etc. etc. And the Bible also says that bad memories would be erased and old ones would be revived back as in "childhood" when you learn about it, it really is just beautiful. So many people have trouble believing it when they see what goes on in the world today....but I bet Adam and Eve living in that perfect world would find it impossible to believe that the world would someday be the way it is today.

Depends on your outlook. Since death is bad, you just have to enjoy the life you live happily and merrily while not worry about dying the least bit. It will happen when you won't even realize it. However, if you live a sad a pathetic life full of misery and anguish, think of death as an escape, something to look forward to. It's a win-win situtation. It helps to put an unjustifiably positive spin on such issues. LOL

I think it kind of just is. I'm wearing a gray shirt right now. Is that happy or sad?

I actually think of it as the great equalizer. Death is the rule that everyone has to play by.

Our parents signed us up for it, and the only known, widely accepted alternative to life is death.

Besides, the time between birth and death leaves plenty of room for fun.

I don't think thats sad. It would be sad if I would be the only person experiencing that. Death is a part of life and since it is up to me what to do with it, I can make it great. That way when I die I won't have anything to be sad about

Hi,

Who said we are in control of our lives, ever thought that everything you do is governed by fate.

My outlook is if you have a choice, right or left and you chose left then that is the direction you were meant to go.

If you start to go left and change your mind, that is what you were supposed to do.

Some say God, the Christian one, influences our day to day living but who governs those who do not believe in that God.

The human race has hundreds of Gods, each recognised as being the 'one and only' by each of there followers.

Are they all controlling us, I don't think so.

Fate, the natural force that control our life.

It does not matter what decision you take, whether it is legal or illegal, against your religion or with it, every choice you make, you were meant to make.

Like it or not that is the way it is.

Skip.

For humans it is. This is because we have been given a perception of eternity.
------
Ecclesiastes 9:3" . . ., that, because there is one eventuality to all, the heart of the sons of men is also full of bad; and there is madness in their heart during their lifetime, and after it-to the dead ones!" (NW)
--------

As can be seen from the scripture this causes all mankind to suffer a kind of madness which seems to affect some more than others.

Paul showed how God subjected the entire creation (all mankind) to futility and that this was with hope. Thus the believer and the righteous one has this to help him during the tribulations of this life.

No, it's not sad.

death is a release from the burdens of life.

Who wants to live forever as the village idiot, or the creepy pervert? Who wants to live forever and watch their children grow old and die? Who wants to live with accumulated mistakes and humiliations for the rest of eternity?

sad? No. Whats sad is dreading it, dwelling on it, fearing it....and missing out on all the small things, the tiny moments in life that could have brought you joy, the small gestures that could have brought joy to those around you. The beauty unfolding right in front of your downcast, fear blinded eyes. The fun, excitement, once in a lifetime events that you miss because your overwhelmed with "doing something important", or "leaving your makr"....thats sad.......
