There are a couple of good ways to find the value of coins.

You can check the closed auctions on ebay for the prices realized for the specific coins that you are interested in. These values are typically the high end of retail price.

A better way is to go to the library at Dewey # 737.4. There are a variety of books there. I recommend the Krause catalog for foreign coins (retail prices). The "red" book lists avarage dealer selling prices for US coins. The "blue" book lists average dealer buying prices for US coins. These books are available in most library. If the books are even 20 years old the values will be the same, except for silver and gold bullion coins.

There are really no sites that you can really use. Most are trying to sell coins. Also a site can not grade a coin for you. Grading standards differ for different series as well as dates in a series. A dealer needs to see them or a person who knows how to grade needs to see them. If you can scan or photograph them and there are only a few coins, I can help you. I have collected coins for many years and get all the pricing info as well as visit a lot of dealers which gives me an idea of what is paid. i would be willing to go through a few at a time, if interested email me and I will give you my full email address. If not a dealer or at least 2 of them needs to see the coins.
