Is it illegal to have sex in a car in New York State....or Colorado??

Doesnt really matter now that I'm older,
But I did it A LOT when I was younger...
and i was just wondering if you could get arrested for it.

** I know you can't if it's on your own property and nobody can see you **

But does anyone know the TECHNICAL rule for it??

I looked up some of the other posts and they just seemed like a bunch of UN educated guesses.

I'd like specifics. Lol.

Thanks guys

That'll fall under a lot of local county and city laws that all add up to Public Indecency. Like all sex, sex in the car is more fun if nobody walks in on you.

In Colorado (where I used to live) I can tell you it isn't "technically". A car is private property, so it's no more illegal than doing it in your house. However, you run into the problem of where exactly your car is. If your parked in the middle of a public area, then yes you run into the problem of public indecency, public exposure, and a variety of other charges, depending on the circumstances and local. Thus the reason you can't do it on your front lawn, even though it's private property :-p

Never happened to me personally, but I know a few friends who got in trouble for it hehehe.

The issue is not the sex or being in a car. The issue is who can see it from the outside. The inside of your car is considered a private space in many ways like your home. If no one can see it you are fine. That being said, if no one can see it, what are your chances of being caught? PS....it is illegal to have sex in your home in front of an open window if you are doing it in hopes that someone will see. A neighbor could complain and you could be charged with a leud act even though you are in your own home. If your neighbor has children and they see it, you could be in very serious trouble. This varies from state to state.

Sorry, I don't know for sure, but I would ASSUME you could get arrested for indecent exposure. More likely they'd probably just send you home (or call your parents if you were a minor..?)

The cars today are so small.
Just keep it out of public view, and on Private property (with permission of the owner). Oh yea...no minors allowed.
I hope you're not tall ;-). Have fun.

Every state is different in its application of indecent exposure laws.

But in your enclosed garage at home?

Rock on!

Yes, public indecency.

Public indecency could be the charge.

I would imagine they could get you for "disorderly conduct" or "indecent exposure".
