This is going to sound like a dumb question but what color do hazel eyes mostly consist of?

I have hazel eyes and they are brown & green.

Mostly brown, with varying shades of green and maybe a light brown that appears sort of orange-ish

Excellent question. Apparently "Hazel" generally refers to eyes whose irises are multi-colored. Like one shade of brown toward the center and another toward the outside. Or brown toward the center but green or blue toward the outside.
