Punch in "North Korea is Dark" and you'll see a satellite photo of night time lights. Everything below the 38th parallel is light up like the sun, and to the north, it is dark. The kind of thinking that makes North Korea that way will keep it in the dark figuratively and literally.. My dad fought in Korea in the 50's, a war where many of the American people said we had no business (sound familiar); time gave us the answer if we did right or not. If McArthur had not been recalled, we might not have to be asking your question today. I know this really doesn't answer your question, but looking at it in context of history, perhaps it helps.

How can North Korea be "two faced"? That country has never claimed to be an ally or friend of the United States. We don't even have formal diplomatic relations with them.

Hello,
As mentioned the North Koreans have been perfectly clear about their dislike for America for 50 years.
Right now our main terrorist problem is with radical Islam.
To these fundementalist, even worse than a Jewish or Christian infidel is a communist atheist. Working together would be like dropping water into acid.

What will hapen eventually is N. Korea re-uniting with the south and when this happens, they will become a strong nation to be reckoned with.
