I think so, especially since men have to pay child support. I think it is messed up how American law recognizes the baby is his then (when chiild support is due) but not before.

I agree 100% !! Not only b/c of financial obligation, but hell, we're the father for christ's sake !! What, we have no say in this. BS !

I understand how due to the fact the mother is giving birth, and believe me, I do not want to go through that physical punishment, she feels it is her decision. But, dads should have a legal say in this matter.

I think if the father wants the child, and is willing to raise it, then the child should be awarded to the father. If fathers are required to pay child support, then so, the mother can pay child support.

Very little is said regarding the rights of fathers, other than the fact that a man's choice to bring a pregnancy to term, does not override a woman's choice to abort.

Also, father's cannot chose to abort a pregnancy, and if the mother brings the pregnancy to term, he is now liable for 21 years of support.

Men are trying to form laws that allow them choice, as women are allowed.

I don't see that the law would ever force a woman to have an abortion, but I do see where men may be allowed to chose not to financially support a child he would have chosen to abort.

Although, for the sake of the child, I do not necessarily consider this reasonable, I can see His point.

It all boils down to accountability. Each parent needs to be accountable for his/her own actions. If two people made a child and one of the parents wants it, then the other parent is liable for child support.

It may end up just being a matter of economics for each state.

You are right. Both parents have rights to their child. If the father wants the child, and the mother is having an abortion, the father should get the child. I always felt the laws for this were unjust, and that the father needed more rights.
I do not believe in abortion and just wish more fathers wanted their children.

I think so since it is a part of him, but the mother should have nothing to do with the baby since, she wanted to kill it in the first place, im all pro-life so i think abortion is wrong anyways and i know their are some cases where its okay... such as rape but i think the father should be able to stop the mother from aborting a child it is also his after all.=) good question! Good Luck!

often it truly works out that fathers are greater shielding of daughters than mothers. mothers comprehend one in each of those issues they have been given as much as and that their daughters would be doing the comparable, they often are not overjoyed approximately it yet they comprehend it somewhat is out of their palms. If maximum fathers knew what their daughters start up getting as much as in direction of the tip of straight forward college it would cause them to ill.

I think a father should have just as much rights as the mother on this one.

When the father can carry the child to term himself, he can make the decision about whether or not to have an abortion. Until then, you're going to have to respect the woman's decision whether you agree or not.

The father should want to support his child!

but, who would want money from a lousy father?

A good parent would do it on their own!
