Please Help Me, i'm trying to connect my gamepad with a serial plug into a usb port via serial to usb adapter and it dosent reconize the controler, can anyone suggest some software so that I can use my controller. i have tried installing the drivers but they dont work(too old) i am running win. xp, and have no info on the adapter manufacture. please only intelegent answers only. thanks any suggestions will be helpfull. i really dont want to buy another controler when i have one right here.

If you haven't done so already, plug in your controller, then go into your control panel. Double click on game controllers. If your controller appears on the list, click on it and try to configure it. If you can, you can also test it at the same time. If you are successful then your controller should now work.

I would recommend buying a new controller. I know you don't want to, but you can get a perfectly good controller (a clone of the ps2 pad) for 15 bucks or less at Wal-Mart. You can probably find others even cheaper online. Otherwise, check the website of the company that made your original gamepad, and see if they have any software that can help.
