I dont think anybody is going to sue you over 16 bucks. I would just write the seller and say I changed my mind. The seller will give you a bad rating.

Can they sue you for 16 bucks? yeah technically they can but who is going to sue you for 16 bucks. But when you go to buy another item you will have a bad mark against you which might make other people not buy what you are selling or wanting to sell to you.

Next time try not to bid for something if you dont want it, I cant believe im taking this much time for answering a question over 16 bucks. Ebay wont do anything unless its a large amount. I dont know, things change and you dont want it anymore. At least you should drop a 2 bucks in the mail to pay what the other people had to pay to put up the item. That might actually get you a good rating.

An ebay bid is a contract. You can't cancel an order like you can with a regular purchase. The reason is that your bid affects the price that others are bidding too. If you don't go through with the transaction, at the least you'll get a negative feedback ... enough of them and many sellers will refuse to honor your bids.. a real lot of them and ebay can cancel you account forever. Be careful when you bid.

Its between you and the seller. I don't think Ebay would do anything unless the seller is angry about it and tries to take action through them. I don't know what happens to that extent but I had this experience once with a seller who's product later seemed unworthy of my money so I told him I didn't want it anymore. He threatened to lower my percentage (feedback) but later we compromised to just give each other positive feedback and nothing happened.
