Claussen probably will not start the season. They are saying after the first 4 or 5 games he will be starting. ND is going through a rebuilding year and could be 7-5. Their program is on the right track though.

I think Notre Dame will kind of suck because the main reason they were good was because Quinn made them good, he was a great QB on a bad team and he made them decent. Now if they start Clausen then he probably won't do too well his first year especially with the high profile teams they have to play on their schedule, but next year he will be ready, I think it would be better to go with Sharpley because he has the experience (no matter how little) and hes the senior QB that could probably play the leadership role the best and maybe bring Notre Dame an alright season. But Jimmy Clausen will be great, I saw him play most his career through high school and he was phenomenal, and he has the great deep ball pass that none of the quarterbacks have, but for accuracy... well that's why I would have him wait until next season, because going onto the next level is always a hard transition, so I would think it best for Clausen to red shirt this year so he could have 4 solid years as a starter, or 3 if he gets greedy and goes to the NFL early.

I think Notre Dame is over-rated. as well as Jimmy Claussen. If he starts I don't know how he'll do. Hopefully they finally manage to win a bowl game.

Notre Dame will do just fine. Except getting whipped by USC in their annual showdown for a couple more years down the road. Claussen is good but he'll run for his life went they're face USC.

Notre Dame will be alright, somewhere in the 7-9 win range (yet somehow they're overrated?). I figure they'll probably pull one decent upset, but then lose to someone they shouldn't really have lost to (not Navy, but maybe MSU again?).

I don't believe JC will start at the beginning of the year, but he has to start some time! He was the most highly touted recruit this side of Jupiter so I would think if he's not #1 midway through the season he's looking to transfer.

Notre Dame's big problem year in and year out is that their players are undersized and slow in comparison to a number of other schools (which has become evident when they've been blown out in a number of bowl games). Until they start recruiting size and speed, they'll beat the likes of Duke and Stanford, but they don't stand a chance against schools like USC, LSU, or Florida.

Im sure he will be as overated as Brady Quinn was coming out as a Notre Dame QB.

clausen may not even get the starting role this season. either way, ND will suck. i'd say they'd be back in the hunt two seasons from now.
