Personally I think they just love the Red Sox. They cant get enough of them and they despise the Yankees.

ESPN is biased toward events carried on ESPN. Do you think that the hot dog eating contest on July 4 would have been carried on Sportscenter otherwise? Arena football is in this class as well.

The Yankees and Red Sox have huge national followings. When Boston played in Atlanta recently, Bobby Cox was left wondering where all the Red Sox fans came from. It only makes sense for a national broadcast to emphasize them.

Both teams get mega press. Yes the Redsox because they love them and they are the trendy thing right now. It was better press when they were miserable if you ask me but that's neither here nor there. The Yankees are getting as much press because they are not expected to be as mediocre as they are right now. Both teams have hugely inflated payrolls, yes Boston is not that far behind the Yankees. It is a shame that minuscule payroll teams like the Indians and Brews do not get a fraction of the time spent on them. Indians are 2.5 games back of having the best record in baseball right now and if you want a divisional race, look to the AL Central, not the East. Indians and Tigers will be going back and forth all year and will be right there with the Redsox. Do not discount the Angels and or any of the NL leaders.

ESPN is biased toward ESPN. Since they're owned by Disney they'll give added coverage to whoever increases ratings, and if you think they're anti Yankees you need to keep in mind the fact that the Yankees and their fans couldn't suck worse.
