Both males and females come in a huge variety of colors. Color is no indication of the sex of the fish. The males are the one's you see in the little cups at the store that have the long fins. The females have much shorter fins.

Color has nothing to do with the sex of a betta fish. The difference between them is that the males have the longer, fancier fins.

No, colour has nothing to do with the gender of the fish. Males generally have long, flowing fins while girls have shorter fins. Both can come in a variety of bright colours.

no. it is easy to tell the difference between the two. male bettas have long wavy fins and beautiful colors. females are a little bit uglier. they are smaller and have short fins. males can be red, blue, yellow, green etc. and so can the females. but the main differences is size and fin length. here are some photos:

Colors have absolutely nothing to do with gender. The difference is the fins. Males have longer more elaborate fins and also have large beards.
Beards are the little black area right about where their ears would be. This is the area that extends when they flare.

No, the color really doesn't have anything to do with gender. The females, in fact, are much less colorful than the males. They have smaller bodies and much much smaller fins. The male bettas are brightly colored (for the most part) and have very long full fins.
