besides marrying at the city hall, do couples marry in a church even if 1 of them is buddhist?

I am dissapointed in some of the misinformed answers you are receiving.

I would say it all depends on the couples wishes, meaning one or both parties may have to compromise in regard to where the wedding will be held. I am not that familar with Buddhism, so maybe there is a particular answer there.

But to clarify an incorrect statement from a previous respondent, the Catholic Church does not require that one person has to convert their non-Catholic spouse to have a recognized marriage. I as a Catholic know this for fact, since my marriage is recognized by the church and my wife is not Catholic. One does have to agree to have their children raised in the church, however.

Depends on what the couple agrees upon. They could have one ceremony at the church and another at the buddhist temple. They would of course have to lie about things, at least where the Catholic Church is concerned. Because Catholicism needs to know that you're going to convert your non-Catholic marital partner. I don't know how strict Buddhism is with this same ideal.
