My son is 7 months old, and was exclusively breastfed until a about a week ago. Then he started demanding my food from me whenever I was eating. I have been giving him a few tablespoons of plain oatmeal for breakfast, some banana sometimes. For lunch he's had plain boiled beans, once he had plain brown rice, and for dinner, I've given him mashed potatoes or some pasta noodles, or a few bites of wheat bread.

Before he eats any solids I try to make sure he has a full meal of breastmilk. And he only gets a few tablespoons of solids three times a day, maybe an extra bite of something tasty here or there.
