I think how you choose to spend your life is up to you. Men and kids can add a lot of drama to your life. Some good, some bad. Men can cause a lot of pain, especially if things don't work out. But even if you choose to not marry or have kids that doesn't mean your life will be empty. You will just fill it with the things you enjoy.

If you don't want to be married and have kids, then don't! You wouldn't be a good wife or mother, you'd resent your husband and kids and you'd all be miserable. Good for you for realizing AHEAD OF TIME that you want something different.
I think it's great that you have a plan for yourself. College, a great job, world travel, that all sounds like a fun, exciting, wonderful life. There are even luxury travel clubs full of people who are doing just that.
Don't let the nay-sayers get you down. The traditional life isn't for everyone. And you have PLENTY of time in your life to go that route if you change your mind later.
Follow your dreams now. Good luck!

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that plan!! What a great plan for your life! My husband had about a dozen careers and three degrees before we met and he married me when he was 56yo. (I'm 17 years younger than he is.) He had a lengthy career in the music industry, owning a recording studio, writing and arranging music/songs, managing talent, recording himself, etc. He had a lengthy career in the baby clothing business, of all things. At one time, he was the youngest theatre manager in all of Canada. He wasn't ready to settle down until he met me. There is nothign wrong with living a life this way!

It doesn't sound empty to me, the only thing wrong is you can't plan when you fall in love. Travelling all over the world was my exact plan, then I fell for someone. I think both options are fine, don't live in a dream of finding mr. right, but don't close yourself either if you happen to bump into him.

That is your choice. There are a lot of things you will miss though. Like seeing the beautiful faces of your new born children, watching them grow and then the faces of your grandchildren. Old age will be mighty lonely with out those faces around.
You can't be selfish and self centered and be a good parent either.

Nothing is wrong. You just have different life goals than some people. More and more people, especially women, are deciding to stay single. There is nothing wrong with it.
