I've heard that when have a woman has sex days before her period, that the possibilities of getting pregant

are almost 0. (we've used this method for almost a year and it has worked) What if she has sex maybe the day she is going to get her period, yet before she actually starts bleeding? are the possibilities of her getting pregnant higher when she is on her period?

You're right, the chances are slim to none. After the egg is released there is only a 24 hour window where the egg can be fertilized. After that a woman is in her luteal phase which has to be at least 10 days, otherwise it's a luteal phase defect and a pregnancy can not occur, but can be as long as 18 days. After her luteal phase her period comes if she is not pregnant.

However, ovulation can be late, several different things can throw it off, so a woman may think her period is coming the next day, but it's actulaly a week away. It's better to use protection just in case, but if a baby wouldn't be that big of a deal and you are willing to risk it, you should be okay. I went off birth control 9 months before we started trying for a baby, and we used the timing method and didn't get pregnant. We got pregnant the first time we tried in the 10th month.

This isn't the safest method of trying to avoid getting pregnant. But since you are going to do it anyway, here is a little more info.: A woman is most likely able to get pregnant when she ovulates which is about 10-14 days after her period (Not every woman, but most) During her period she is less likely to get pregnant, and during the few days before and a few days after she is also less likely.

But in all seriousness, go to Planned Parenthood, a free clinic or the health dept and get some Birth control.

NO NO NO. Whenever you have unprotected sex, there is ALWAYS a possibility of getting the girl pregnant. Even if she is ON her period. Chances are lower, but it can still happen! A girl is most fertile 14 days after her period.

ovulation generally takes place 14 days after the first day o fher period or half of her cycle. but it varies and can only be sure by a ovulation test and body temp and body fluid changes
