Nope! It's not just you! After being hounded by the do-gooders of the Christian church, I became a Christian to have my spirit cleansed of my many sins. I stuck with it for about fifteen years. However, I started questioning a tremendous amount of the concepts that these Christians hold so near and dear.
The Bible God, for instance, has to be one of the most cruel characters in literature. If this one was to have had the power to love unconditionally, then how did he get so twisted? Read a few of the passages in the Bible pertaining to his punishment of sinners, and you will be guaranteed nightmares.
Then there is this huge ego thing the Christians possess. How can they believe that they are the only ones going to the Promise Land unless they sit in judgment of others (which, by the way, seems to be a favorite past time)?
I quit the religion thing and in my journey to find truth, I found spirituality. I met a Creator who has not created either heaven or hell, but a meeting place for all, sinners, and non-sinners alike. I have found that people in all walks of faith are beautiful, loving, and compassionate people, and not cult members. My church is at the beach, or in the woods, or in my garden. I no longer have to deal with the hypocrisy of many.
To be this free in my walk is the most beautiful feeling I have ever experienced! I have also started living a much more compassionate, trouble free life in my walk. I no longer drink or dabble in dtrugs, I try to always help others, and most of all, I try not to judge others as I had once learned to do!
Excellent question! I guess the short answer to it is the guilt they still carry with them! Have a glorious weekend! Annie

Totally agree. My neighbors down the street.... totally freaking bible thumpers... one got pregnant at 13; then the daughter got pregnant at 19; one son got divorced. One son has moved in and out of the house more times than I can count. Oh, and the daughter has a narcotic-drug-problem.
Great job, huh?

Just because you believe in God doesn't mean you're not human and make mistakes....I don't think the Devil messes with who he already has.......

i think people find god 'after' they screw up, I think believing in god makes them feel better after they rape kids and kill people.
