If it is casual and just friendly chat then it is ok. If it gets in the way of your current relationship then it's a problem. If you would rather chat to your ex than spend time with your wife this is definitely a problem.

yes she has a right to be upset, she loves u and wants to protect what she has. there should be no other relationships going on when your with someone, makes the other person feel uneasy and unwanted and unloved. if your chatting all of the time with someone else than u are cheating your wife out of your time. its wrong.

She sure has a reason to be mad. All that time you spend chatting should be with your girlfriend/wife.

If you are talking about your wife or girlfriend being mad about it, yes, she has a reason to be mad. You could be involved in an emotional affair.

Yes she would. When you date some one, or marry them, they should be the only one. And chatting makes her feel insignificant.

You mean your current wife or girlfriend? Yes, she would have big reason to be mad. When its over its over and never look back.

i think the current has the right to be upset.....points in your favor though that you didnt hide it....her point is that you are spending so much time chatting with her to the expense of your current relationship

Yep, she does. If there are no kids involved you have no reason to talk to an ex.
