Ps3 is best in graphics Xbox 360 best overall Wii best in pricing . Nintendo always does that and usally sells the least. But it has pretty good games like Super Smash bros Brawl, Line Rider, Wii sports. I like it the best.

There are 2 answers depending on which you want to believe.

1) cost vs profits. It's costly to purchase external components such as GPUs from companies. Even more so the better they are. In order to keep the costs down and maximize profits they cut back on the GPU.

2) Keep the cost of the system lower than X360 or PS3.

A game console is like a computer and each part costs money, but u have to realize that graphics cards are never cheap. you could easily spend $500 on a video card, but that would defeat the purpose of the system being inexpensive.

They wanted to keep it cheap. By not having it in HD and keeping the graphics at PS2 level they kept there price down compared to PS3 and Xbox 360. Bad choice to me but that was there reasoning.
