Hardware is a complicated issue.

For the transport, better option to cable would be T1 business lines. Some telcos now offer such services. You may be able to get a 2-3 T1 lines with the total of 1.5mbps up/down bandwidth each with a cost of $300/$400 month each.

These are then routed to a gateway at location (such as Cisco IAD 2430 series). Voice data is compressed using sophisticated codecs, so depending on your requirements one T1 may be more than plenty.

Gateways such as above are also sophisticated and support many VOIP features.

The posters above are right to say that it will require many pages of information to describe the whole setup, however look at this link here and you will learn basics (and much more) on a VOIP setup:

THe above will get you started in your education on VOIP, provided you have *some* technical background in this area

It depends upon the type of incoming calls and the structure of the internet service and/or telco service in your area.

Here's what I'd do:

I'd use an asterisk-based PC --
*you can get the free software at www.freepbx.org
*Build or buy a cheap AMD-based lower-end computer. Soup up the ram on it. You should be able to get a pretty solid machine for under $400 to handle it easily.

Get the fastest internet service you can reasonably get in your area. In NYC for example, we have 20 MBits down/ 5 Mbits up Cable Modem service for under $100/month.

Use that internet service to handle the 10 calls simultaneously (10 calls inbound, 10 calls outbound for a total of 20 calls).

Use a good VoIP SIP service to assign the numbers and provide the cheap international calling. If you're interested in a good service, email me and I'll refer you to the one I've used for business that works rather well.

Best VOIP international call. Internet Phone Service lets you make and receive broadband phone calls to or from any number using an ordinary telephone, a WiFi telephone, or your own SIP phone.

Your question indicates you do not understand what it takes to make, receive, and call forward phone messages.

It would take numerous pages to bring you up to fundamental speed and you would not read it anyway.

Finally do not beleive that you can get TDM qualify voice using the Internet as a carrier. It will not work dependably.
