So i am attending my cousins wedding next weekend and i am trying to pick out an outfit. I've been to a few weddings before but i wasn't out then, so i did the whole dress thing. I don't want to go in a dress but wearing a full suit doesn't seem quite right either. so what is appropriate formal wear for a soft butch?

Dress shirt, slacks (man tailored), jacket/blazer (man tailored)... and a tie if youre comfortable.. if youre not.. sling your jacket over your shoulder and wear the collar open for a little more casual dressy look.

*edit*
Damn! Am I the only one here that thinks butch/soft butch MEANS butch/soft butch? Im sorry.. maybe Im old school femme, but when I hear "butch" I have a mental image and its NOT in a dress of ANY kind OR in ANY feminine garment. BUTCH does not mean FLANNEL... I love a good metrosexual butch woman.. oh holy cow yeeeesss... but.. do whatever you are comfortable in.

i'd probably wear a shirt and a tie. maybe a silk shirt or something made of fancier fabric than the usual cotton blends? that's what the guys i know do when they go to weddings if they don't wear a suit.

depending on the wedding, you might be able to get away with a nice sweater and slacks. if you think all of the guests will be in super formal wear, you might want to just suck it up and wear a suit.
