with issues like iraq, immigration, out-sourcing jobs, the war on terror, george bush's screw ups, and and a bunch of leadership democrats and repubilcans who are too scared to do the the right thing for the better of the country. with all this it seems like people are still more interested in paris hilton than voting.

I sincerely hope that more people will take it upon themselves to be more familiar with the major and minor issues. I hope that more people will vote, and most importantly that people will learn to think for themselves and not take a view because Oprah, fox news or church pastors tell them too. Once the public learns to think for themselves, then I believe that they will see things as they are and try to make the best decisions.

It sad to say that in this age, a celebrity going to prison is more news worthy or captures our attention more than the crisis in Dafar, or the huge homeless problem in our major cities, or the failed public educational system, or the rise in cost across the board. I think the only way things will change as it relates to priorities is if we have a social revolution.

42% didn't vote last time. To change this, we need to make the system a non-issue when voting. Meaning it should cast a vote in your name as agreeing to the final outcome if you choose not too.

Thereby, placing accountiblity on the individual.. until then - this poll shows the reasons people fill not.

The number 1 reason they say: 48% Ultimately only 2 choices.

Look at the numbers of people that turn out to vote. You're big voting block is whites from age 30 and up. This has always been this way, will most likely stay this way. It would be nice to see a huge turn out, but it won't happen no matter what.

They still have to vote for politicians.

If they vote for good people (e.g., Tom Tancredo), they can't say they voted for a winner; but if they vote for one of those so-called "winners," we all lose.

God I hope so. I sense Americans showing up this time because they really do understand the gravity of this election.

Sadly no. I think it's like when someone yells "fire." No one does a thing because they all think someone else will call 911.
